Distinguishing marks: The first professional Israeli cycling team

The first professional Israeli cycling team, the Israel Cycling Academy was brought into existence by Ron Bar On and Ran Margaliot in 2015.

The Cycling Academy is the only team in the world whose budget is primarily made up of philanthropic contributions.

The idea underpinning the Academy is to give young talented cyclists the opportunity to compete on an international basis, providing a source of inspiration and acting as a guiding star for the new generations.

Made up of talented youngsters coming from all over the world, the team made considerable progress in 2017, exceeding the expectations of its founders.

Over the last year, the owners and management of the Israel Cycling Academy have spared no effort to bring the Giro d’Italia to Israel, where, indeed, the first three stages of the pink race will be held in 2018.
