Nicolas Malle is champion. The young Frenchman in the U19 Btwin Racing team, a project in which Selle Italia is proud to be a part, became European champion in the Junior category, in Plumele, in France.
A victory that counts double, because he obtained it in front of his home crowd, following a race that saw nine riders duelling for about fifty kilometres along the route and that in the latter stages provided its most exciting moments. The last hundred metres offered the surprise: the Italian Zana gave way right on the finishing stretch, signally leaving the road open to his opponents. The final sprint favoured the standard-bearer of the home team who almost incredulously crossed the line ahead of his compatriot Emilien Jenniere and the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar.
A deserved success for this promising young 18-year-old, known for his simplicity and particular dedication to work. We are confident that these qualities will help him towards other victories, with the support of Team Btwin and Selle Italia, which has always known how to recognize the passion that moves cycling talents.
