Selle Italia sponsored Team Europcar’s Thomas Voeckler took his second stage win & reconquered
the Maillot Pois of the Tour’s Best Climber and was also awarded Most Combative Rider on Stage
16 from Pau to Bagnères-de-Luchon, the third stage win for Europcar at the Tour. Two years ago,
Voeckler won a Tour stage in Bagnères-de-Luchon.

Post stage “I can’t really figure out what I’ve done today,” explained Voeckler. “It’s the kind of thing I watched on television as a kid, and today it was me who did it. I had four races in my head today, each climb was a separate race. I know every metre of the climbs from training here in this region. There were 197 kilometers of racing here and I knew all 197 kilometres by heart.”
